The Detective Questioned a Man Who Had No Alibi
A detective was questioning a suspicious man.
“Where were you last night?”
“At home.”
“Anyone with you?”
“No.”
“So you were alone?”
“Yes.”
The detective leaned forward.
“Can anyone confirm that?”
The man thought carefully.
“No.”
The detective smiled.
“Then you have no alibi.”
The man nodded.
“Correct.”
The detective raised an eyebrow.
“You’re not worried?”
“No.”
“Why?”
The man smiled.
“Because I wasn’t doing anything.”
“How do I know that?”
“You don’t.”
The detective frowned.
“That’s not helping.”
The man nodded.
“I know.”
“Then why are you smiling?”
“Because I’m enjoying watching you try to prove I did something.”
The detective stared at him.
“You’ve done this before.”
“No.”
“Then why are you so calm?”
The man shrugged.
“I watch a lot of detective shows.”
The detective sighed.
“So do I.”
