My friend was getting ready for his first date.
He looked nervous.
I asked, “What’s your plan?”
“Easy. I’ll make her laugh.”
“Great. How?”
“I have three jokes ready.”
The date started, and everything seemed fine.
After dinner, he leaned toward her and said,
“I have a funny joke.”
She smiled.
“Okay, tell me.”
He suddenly forgot the joke.
“Wait… I know this one.”
She waited.
He looked at me across the restaurant.
I mouthed, “You got this!”
He stood up dramatically.
“I completely forgot my joke.”
She laughed.
He looked surprised.
“What?”
She smiled.
“That was actually funny.”
He sat back down proudly.
“See? Natural talent.”
Then the waiter came over.
“Would you like dessert?”
My friend confidently replied,
“Yes.”
The girl smiled.
“What do you recommend?”
He froze again.
“I forgot.”
She started laughing.
My friend looked at me.
“Apparently, forgetting things is my whole personality.”
