A man walked into a bookstore and placed a book on the counter.
“I’d like to return this.”
The cashier looked at the receipt.
“There’s nothing wrong with it?”
“No.”
“Then why are you returning it?”
He sighed.
“I bought it because the title was How to Become More Confident.”
“Okay…”
“I read the first page.”
“And?”
“It told me to believe in myself.”
The cashier smiled.
“That’s good advice.”
“I know.”
“So what’s the problem?”
He pointed at the book.
“I don’t think I’m confident enough to finish it.”
The cashier stared at him.
“You’re returning a confidence book because you’re not confident?”
“Exactly.”
He smiled.
