The Teacher Asked Who Had Done Their Homework

The teacher walked into class and asked,

“Who finished their homework?”

Almost everyone raised a hand.

One student kept his hand down.

The teacher noticed.

“Why didn’t you do your homework?”

He stood up.

“Because of my dog.”

The teacher sighed.

“Your dog ate it?”

“No.”

“He lost it?”

“No.”

“Then what happened?”

The student looked completely serious.

“My dog was sitting beside me while I was doing it.”

The teacher waited.

“And?”

“I suddenly realized he had no homework.”

The class started laughing.

The teacher tried not to smile.

“So you decided not to do yours?”

“Yes.”

“Why?”

He shrugged.

“It felt rude.”

The teacher stared at him.

“Sit down.”

He sat down.

Then quietly asked,

“Does this mean I get partial credit for being considerate?”

The whole class exploded with laughter.

😂 Moral: Sometimes the worst excuse becomes impressive simply because nobody has heard it before.
