My Wife Said I Was Ignoring Her While Looking at My Phone
My wife walked into the room.
“Are you listening to me?”
I immediately put my phone down.
“Of course.”
“What did I just say?”
I smiled confidently.
“You said…”
I paused.
She crossed her arms.
“Go ahead.”
“You said something important.”
“What something?”
“Something very important.”
She stared at me.
“That’s not an answer.”
I nodded.
“You’re right.”
She smiled.
“At least you’re honest.”
Then she asked,
“So what were you looking at on your phone?”
I proudly showed her.
“A video about how to become a better listener.”
She stared at the screen.
Then looked at me.
“You were watching that while I was talking?”
I nodded.
“Yes.”
She sighed.
“Did you learn anything?”
I smiled.
“Absolutely.”
“What?”
“Never watch videos while your wife is talking.”
She laughed.
“Good.”
I picked up my phone again.
She said,
“Don’t.”
I immediately put it down.
“See?”
“What?”
“I’m already improving.”
😂 Moral: Sometimes the best way to prove you’re listening is to survive the conversation.
