My Little Brother Asked Dad for $20
My little brother walked up to Dad.
“Can I have $20?”
Dad asked,
“What do you need it for?”
“A school project.”
Dad handed him $5.
My brother stared at it.
“I need $20.”
Dad said,
“Then explain the project.”
My brother sighed.
“We’re learning about inflation.”
Dad immediately took the $5 back.
“Congratulations. Lesson completed.”
My brother stared at him.
“That’s not fair!”
Dad smiled.
“Welcome to economics.”
My brother walked away muttering,
“I hate school.”
Dad called after him,
“And that’s another lesson.”
