The Librarian Found a Man Returning a Book He Had Just Borrowed
A librarian watched a man borrow a book.
Thirty seconds later, he returned it.
She looked confused.
“You’re returning it already?”
“Yes.”
“You haven’t even opened it.”
“I know.”
“Then why did you borrow it?”
The man pointed at the title:
How to Make Better Decisions.
The librarian smiled.
“Did you decide you don’t need it?”
“No.”
“Then what?”
“I decided I make terrible decisions.”
She laughed.
“That’s actually a good realization.”
He nodded.
“Thank you.”
“So you’re keeping the book?”
“No.”
“Why not?”
He handed it back.
“I don’t trust my decisions anymore.”
The librarian stared at him.
“That’s the smartest thing you’ve done today.”
The man smiled.
“Great.”
Then he walked away.
Five seconds later, he came back.
“Actually…”
She sighed.
“What now?”
“I think I made a bad decision returning the book.”
