The Astronomer Bought a Telescope for His Birthday.

An astronomer invited his friends over to show off his brand-new telescope.

Everyone gathered outside, excited to see the stars.

He carefully adjusted the lens and announced, “Tonight, you’re going to see Jupiter.”

His cousin looked through it.

“Wow! I can actually see Jupiter!”

The astronomer smiled proudly.

Then his wife looked through the telescope.

“That’s incredible!”

Suddenly, their 8-year-old nephew ran outside.

“Can I see?”

“Of course,” said the astronomer.

The boy looked through the telescope for a few seconds, then frowned.

“I don’t see Jupiter.”

The astronomer adjusted everything again.

“Try now.”

The boy looked again.

“I still can’t see it.”

The astronomer became concerned.

“Are you sure you’re looking through the eyepiece?”

The boy paused.

“Yes.”

“Then what do you see?”

The boy pointed toward the sky.

“Mostly… clouds.”

The astronomer stared at him.

“You’ve been looking through the wrong end.”

The boy shrugged.

“Oh. I was wondering why the telescope made everything look smaller.”

😂 Moral: Always check which end you’re looking through before blaming the universe.
