The Hotel Manager Found a Guest Sleeping in the Lobby
At 4 a.m., the hotel manager found a guest asleep on the lobby sofa.
He gently woke him.
“Sir, why are you sleeping here?”
The man opened his eyes.
“My room is too expensive.”
The manager looked confused.
“But you’ve already paid for it.”
“I know.”
“So why aren’t you sleeping in your room?”
The man pointed upstairs.
“Because I’m trying to get my money’s worth.”
The manager stared at him.
“How does sleeping on the lobby sofa save money?”
“It doesn’t.”
“Then what are you doing?”
The man smiled.
“I’m getting free sleep.”
The manager sighed.
“You have a room.”
“I know.”
“A bed.”
“I know.”
“A television.”
“I know.”
“So why are you here?”
The man closed his eyes again.
“Because none of those things are free.”
The manager walked away.
Then turned around.
“Sir?”
The man opened one eye.
“Yes?”
“The lobby sofa isn’t free either.”
The man immediately stood up.
“Where’s the cheapest chair?”
