My Grandma Sent Me a Voice Message That Was Almost Eight Minutes Long
Grandma sent me a voice message.
I pressed play.
“Hello, dear…”
Then there was silence.
I waited.
Finally she said,
“Can you hear me?”
I laughed.
“Yes, Grandma.”
Then another silence.
She said,
“Good.”
I thought that was the end.
It wasn’t.
She started telling me about her neighbor, her garden, the weather, what she had for breakfast, and something that happened in 1987.
Seven minutes later, she finally said,
“Anyway, that’s all I wanted to tell you.”
I checked the message.
Seven minutes and fifty-three seconds.
I called her.
“Grandma, why was your message almost eight minutes?”
She replied,
“I didn’t want to bother you with a phone call.”
I started laughing.
“Grandma, you just sent me an eight-minute phone call!”
She paused.
“Oh.”
Then she said,
“Well, at least you couldn’t interrupt me.”
😂 Moral: Grandma doesn’t send voice messages—she sends podcasts.
