A Tourist Learned One Spanish Word and Used It for Everything
Before his trip, Ryan learned the word “gracias.”
He was very proud.
At a café, someone gave him coffee.
“Gracias!”
At the hotel, someone opened the door.
“Gracias!”
Later, a man ran up to him and shouted,
“Your bag! Someone is stealing your bag!”
Ryan smiled.
“Gracias!”
The man pointed down the street.
“RUN!”
Ryan nodded.
“Gracias!”
Then he watched the thief disappear.
His friend asked,
“Why didn’t you chase him?”
Ryan sighed.
“I haven’t learned the Spanish word for panic yet.”
😂 Moral: One Spanish word can make you polite. It cannot save your luggage.
