The New Neighbor Kept Waving at Me Every Morning
Every morning, my new neighbor stood outside smiling and waving.
Naturally, I waved back.
After a week, I finally walked over.
“Hi! I’m Alex. We’ve been waving at each other every morning, so I thought I’d introduce myself.”
He looked surprised.
“We have?”
“Of course! Every morning!”
He laughed.
“Oh… I wasn’t waving at you.”
I blinked.
“Then who?”
He pointed behind me.
“Your dog.”
I turned around to see my golden retriever happily wagging his tail.
The neighbor smiled.
“He never misses a morning greeting.”
Just then my dog barked.
The neighbor barked back.
They went back and forth like old friends.
I asked, “What did he say?”
“He says you’re late with breakfast.”
I sighed.
“My own dog has a better social life than I do.”
