The Man Bought a Parrot That Was Supposed to Be Very Intelligent
A man visited a pet store.
The owner said,
“This parrot is incredibly intelligent.”
The man asked,
“How intelligent?”
“It can speak five languages.”
The man was impressed.
“What does it say?”
The owner turned to the parrot.
“Hello!”
The parrot said nothing.
The owner tried again.
“Good morning!”
Nothing.
The man looked at him.
“You said it speaks five languages.”
The owner nodded.
“It does.”
“Then why isn’t it speaking?”
The owner thought for a moment.
“Maybe it’s shy.”
The man looked at the parrot.
“Can you say anything?”
The parrot stared back.
Nothing.
The man bought it anyway.
The next morning, he returned to the store.
“This parrot is broken!”
The owner asked,
“Why?”
“It hasn’t said a single word!”
The owner looked surprised.
“That’s strange.”
The man pointed at the parrot.
“It just sits there staring at me.”
The owner nodded thoughtfully.
“Sounds intelligent.”
The man stared at him.
“Why?”
“Because it already knows talking to you won’t help.”
😂 Moral: Sometimes silence isn’t a lack of intelligence—it’s excellent judgment.
