My Friend Bought a Very Expensive Doorbell
My neighbor proudly showed me his new smart doorbell.
“It’s amazing,” he said.
“It has a camera, microphone, motion detection, everything.”
I said, “Why did you need such an expensive doorbell?”
He smiled.
“Security.”
The next morning he called me.
“Come over! Something happened!”
I rushed over.
“What happened?”
He pointed at the doorbell.
“It caught someone stealing my package.”
“Did you see who it was?”
“Yes!”
“Who?”
He showed me the video.
It was his own wife.
I stared at him.
“Your wife stole your package?”
He shook his head.
“No.”
“Then why did she take it?”
“She ordered it.”
I was confused.
“So what’s the problem?”
He sighed.
“She forgot she ordered it.”
I looked at the video again.
His wife picked up the package, looked around suspiciously, and ran inside.
My neighbor sighed.
“The doorbell cost more than the package.”
I laughed.
“At least you caught the thief.”
He nodded.
“Yeah. I’m just glad I married her before she became a professional criminal.”
