The Hotel Clerk Asked If I Needed Anything During My Stay
I checked into a hotel late at night.
The clerk handed me the room key.
“Is there anything you need during your stay?”
I said,
“No, thank you. I’m just here to sleep.”
He nodded.
“Perfect.”
I went upstairs.
Five minutes later, I called reception.
“Hi. I have a problem.”
“What’s wrong, sir?”
“The room has no television remote.”
“Have you checked beside the bed?”
“Yes.”
“Under the pillows?”
“Yes.”
“In the drawers?”
“Yes.”
The clerk sighed.
“Sir, there should definitely be a remote.”
“I know.”
“Could you look again?”
I looked around.
Then suddenly realized something.
“Wait.”
“Yes?”
“I found it.”
“Where was it?”
I looked down at my hand.
“I’ve been holding it the entire time.”
There was a long silence.
The clerk finally said,
“Anything else you need?”
I thought about it.
“Apparently, supervision.”
He burst out laughing.
😂 Moral: Sometimes the thing you’re desperately searching for is already part of the investigation.
