My Friend Told Me He Had Finally Become an Adult

My friend called me one morning.

“I’ve finally become an adult.”

I was impressed.

“Really? What happened?”

“I bought a vacuum cleaner.”

“That’s it?”

“No. I also bought laundry detergent.”

“Wow.”

“I know.”

“So what are you going to do with all this adult responsibility?”

He became quiet.

“That’s the problem.”

“What?”

“I don’t know how to use the washing machine.”

I laughed.

“Read the instructions.”

“I did.”

“And?”

“It has twelve buttons.”

“So?”

“I only know one thing about washing machines.”

“What?”

“Don’t put your phone in your pocket.”

“Why?”

“Because I already learned that lesson.”

I started laughing.

“How much did it cost?”

He sighed.

“Enough to make me respect dry-cleaning.”

Then he said,

“Being an adult is expensive.”

I replied,

“Welcome to adulthood.”

He paused.

“Can I return it?”

😂 Moral: Growing up is mostly buying things you don’t understand how to use.
