My Dad Tried to Cook Breakfast Alone
Dad proudly announced,
“Nobody comes into the kitchen. I’ve got this.”
Ten minutes later…
The smoke alarm started cheering louder than anyone else.
Mom rushed in.
“What happened?”
Dad pointed at the toast.
“I wanted it crispy.”
Mom stared.
“That’s charcoal.”
Dad shrugged.
“It’s extra crispy.”
I picked up the butter.
“Should I still use this?”
Dad smiled.
“No… you’ll need a hammer.”
We laughed all through breakfast.
