His son nodded.
“I will.”

His father checked the clock.
“It’s eight fifteen.”

“Then why did you give me a watch that lies?”

“It doesn’t lie.”
“Then what happened?”
“You forgot to wind it.”
The boy looked relieved.
“So it doesn’t lie?”
“No.”
“Good.”
