The Man Tried to Impress Everyone at the Elevator
A man stepped into a crowded elevator wearing sunglasses.
Nobody said anything.
He pressed the button for the 10th floor.
Then he noticed a little boy staring at him.
The boy asked,
“Are you famous?”
The man smiled.
“Very.”
The boy looked impressed.
“What’s your name?”
The man opened his mouth confidently.
Then the elevator stopped.
Everyone stepped out.
The man followed.
The boy stayed inside.
The doors closed.
The man suddenly realized he had forgotten which floor he needed.
He looked around.
“Excuse me!”
The elevator was already gone.
He sighed.
A woman walking past asked,
“Are you okay?”
He nodded.
“Absolutely.”
“Then why are you standing in front of the elevator?”
He adjusted his sunglasses.
“I’m waiting for my assistant.”
“Where is he?”
The man pointed at the elevator.
“He just left.”
