The Police Officer Pulled Over the Slowest Driver in Town
A police officer pulled over a car crawling down the road at 15 mph.
He walked up to the window.
“Ma’am, do you know why I stopped you?”
The woman smiled.
“Because I was speeding?”
The officer looked confused.
“No. You were going 15.”
She nodded proudly.
“Exactly.”
“That’s actually why I stopped you.”
She pointed at the road.
“The speed limit is 50.”
“I know.”
“Then why were you driving 15?”
She pointed behind her.
“Because the sign back there said 15.”
The officer looked behind the car.
There was a sign.
He stared at it.
Then he burst out laughing.
“Ma’am, that’s the highway number.”
She looked at the sign.
“Oh.”
The officer glanced into the back seat.
Three elderly passengers were sitting there looking terrified.
He asked,
“Are they okay?”
One of them whispered,
“No.”
The officer smiled.
“Why?”
She pointed at the driver.
“She just learned what the speed limit means.”
