My Friend Tried to Flirt with the Waitress and Forgot His Own Name
My friend saw a waitress walking toward our table and suddenly sat up straight.
“Watch this,” he whispered.
“Watch what?”
“I’m going to be charming.”
The waitress smiled.
“Are you ready to order?”
My friend smiled back.
“Absolutely.”
She handed him the menu.
“What can I get you?”
He looked at her confidently.
“I’ll have…”
He paused.
Then paused again.
She waited.
He whispered to me,
“What should I order?”
I whispered back,
“You just said you were going to be charming!”
He ignored me and looked at the waitress.
“I’ll have whatever you recommend.”
She smiled.
“How about the chicken?”
He nodded.
“Perfect.”
“And what would you like to drink?”
He looked nervous again.
“Water.”
“Still or sparkling?”
He froze.
I could see the confidence leaving his body.
“Whichever one makes me look sophisticated.”
The waitress laughed.
“Sparkling.”
He nodded proudly.
“Excellent choice.”
She walked away.
I looked at him.
“That went well.”
He smiled.
“Obviously.”
“Do you even like sparkling water?”
He took a sip.
“No.”
“Then why did you order it?”
He whispered,
“Because she said it would make me sophisticated.”
I laughed so hard I nearly fell off my chair.
He sighed.
“Next time, I’m flirting with someone who works at a pizza place.”
😂 Moral: Confidence gets you started, but sparkling water can finish the job.
