My Brother Tried to Impress Our Guests with His Cooking
My brother invited some friends over and announced,
“Tonight, I’m cooking.”
Dad looked worried.
“Are you sure?”
“Absolutely. I’ve watched several cooking videos.”
Mom asked,
“What are you making?”
“Something Italian.”
“What’s it called?”
He proudly said,
“Spaghetti.”
Mom smiled.
“That’s not exactly difficult.”
“Exactly. I’m starting with the basics.”
A few minutes later, everyone heard him shouting from the kitchen.
“HELP!”
Dad ran in.
“What happened?”
“The spaghetti is stuck!”
“Stuck where?”
“In the pot!”
Dad looked confused.
“That’s where it’s supposed to be.”
My brother stared at him.
“Then why won’t it come out?”
Dad looked into the pot.
My brother had accidentally drained the spaghetti without removing the strainer.
Dad started laughing.
“You cooked the spaghetti inside the strainer.”
My brother looked offended.
“Well… at least it won’t escape.”
Everyone started laughing.
He finally served dinner.
The spaghetti was actually pretty good.
My brother smiled proudly.
“See? I’m a natural.”
Mom nodded.
“Yes.”
“Really?”
“Absolutely.”
“At cooking?”
“No. At making everyone hungry while they’re waiting.”
